My neighbor Ralph’s wife passed away years ago. She always made Ralphie these cookies when he wanted them and would bring us over some. When she passed, I decided I would make those cookies for Ralphie at Christmas. Its the only time I make them too. A batch for Ralphie and a batch for us. They are only good fresh. And boy oh boy are they ever!
Ingredients:
1/4 c sugar
1 TBSP cinnamon
-Mix together in a bowl and set aside.
1 ½ c sugar
½ c butter flavored Crisco
½ c soft butter
-Cream together, then add;
2 eggs
2 3/4 c flour
2 tsp cream of tartar
1 tsp baking soda
1/4 tsp salt
Directions:
Preheat oven to 375.
Shape dough into 1 1/2 inch balls roll in sugar/cinnamon mixture. Place about 2″ apart onto ungreased cookie sheet.
Bake 10-15 minutes or until centers are set. Remove from cookie sheet to cool.
